Homecoming 2013

With more than 160 alumni, actives and guests — some from as far away as California, Texas and Florida — Homecoming Weekend 2013 was a blast! The weekend’s events included receptions, laser show, tailgate, football game and Sunday breakfast.

One of the highlights was the post-game reception. The dinner, its menu personally selected by Joe “Craw” Pierce ’75, especially got rave reviews all around.

A second highlight was the dedication of the “Phillips Stairway” in honor of Duane Phillips ’78 and Laurie Phillips ’78. The plaque and stone marker will remind students and alumni for many years to come of Duane and Laurie’s loyalty to DU and Cornell and their generosity. Their son Greg also is a DU ’08, as is their son-in-law, Brett Hochstein ’08.

Finally, the tailgate was a tremendous event, the finest DU has ever had. As co-sponsors with the CFA and CU athletics, we were treated to buffet lunch, open bar and shelter from the rain. None of it would have been possible without Dan Leonard ’79.
